The Team is a nonprofit organization that creates award-winning programming focused on integrating nonpartisan civic engagement and voter participation into college athletics. We offer pathways for every athlete, coach, and administrator to become more engaged citizens.
Since 2020, we have engaged over 72,000 athletes, coaches, and administrators.
We offer a variety of programs, including the inaugural Engaged Athlete Fellowship.
Peruse our video library, drill database, or civic guides for inspirational and informational content.
We envision a future where all student athletes are active citizens in our democracy and all athletic departments, teams, and coaches establish civic engagement as a priority.
We develop teammates, inspire leaders, and empower citizens. Working directly with athletes, coaches, and administrators, we provide nonpartisan resources to increase voter participation, make civic engagement joyful and easy, build stronger teams, and reinforce commitment to community.
THE TEAM IS THE
BRIDGE BETWEEN
CIVIC ENGAGEMENT AND
COLLEGE ATHLETICS.
Athletes, coaches, and administrators are the most influential leaders and impactful voices on college campuses. Helping student athletes become better teammates, leaders, and citizens shapes their civic habits for life, positively influences the community, expands the culture of civic engagement, and strengthens our democracy.
"Part of being a champion is you're not just a champion on the field, it's everywhere you are. It's just another part of the process and it's a great indicator of our dedication to our work. It's imperative that in every opportunity we have a social progress, we take our part. Voting is just one part of that."

"Being an engaged athlete is remembering our identities extend past our sport. We are all part of distinct and diverse communities that we should continue to amplify and uplift. And as athletes, it is such a beautiful experience being able to share those parts of our lives with each other."

"The most powerful thing we can do is lead by example. When I spoke at City Hall as the Penn Volleyball Captain, I could see how excited the young girls were. To have the opportunity to speak about why I care about civic engagement and to see their reactions was really powerful."
