Happy Women’s History Month! Throughout the month of March, we will be highlighting inspirational women who have had a lasting impact on women’s sports. Today’s spotlight is Patsy Mink, the Mother of Title IX, the first woman of color, and the first Asian American woman to serve in Congress. Thank you, Patsy, for fighting for the passage of the Title IX Amendment! What is Title IX? Title IX gives women athletes the right to equal opportunity in sports in educational institutions that receive federal funds, from elementary schools to colleges and universities.

Mark your calendars! All Vote No Play Day is November 7, 2023. All Vote No Play Day allows student-athletes to use their day off from their sport to participate in civic engagement activities. About All Vote No Play Day: In June 2020, Coach Eric Reveno, then Associate Head Coach for Georgia Tech Men’s Basketball, tweeted that Election Day should be a day OFF from playing, and a day ON for voting. The tweet quickly went viral and inspired over 1,100 coaches to pledge to do the same. Coach Reveno teamed up with Coach Joe Kennedy, then Assistant Coach for Holy Cross Men’s Basketball, and together they worked with the NCAA and student-athlete leaders across the country to unanimously pass legislation to make Election Day a dedicated day for civic engagement annually.
