High Impact Civic Events

Our high impact civic events focus on key moments and civic holidays to highlight voter registration and participation by using on-campus trusted messengers to maximize reach. In the months leading up to the election, our network ramped up efforts organizing 297 events including voter registration and voter education events, All Vote No Play/Get Out The Vote activities, and produced more than 500+ posts on social media to energize student athletes and their communities.

THE TEAM'S 2ND BI-ANNUAL ALL-STAR MEETING

Our Fall 2024 All Star Meeting featured speakers such as NCAA President Charlie Baker, Governor of Maryland Wes Moore, Seattle Storm Player Nneka Ogwumike, and Phoenix Mercury All Star Natasha Cloud in conversation with student athletes.

"BEYOND THE GAME" MEETING

“Beyond the Game” was a call to action for HBCU athletic departments. Partnering with the Social Change Fund United and NAACP LDF, we brought NBA legend Carmelo Anthony to inspire over 1,000 athletes and coaches from 19 HBCUs. We delivered nearly 200 pizzas to athletic departments and the energy was electric.

PURPLE TOUR EVENTS

Through collaboration with Civic Responsibility Project, The Team brought the high energy of college athletics to The Purple Tour. In 6 cities, Civic Captains and The Team staff joined community dance parties to bring more voters out to the polls. In Tempe, Arizona State’s mascot, Sparky, was a welcome presence. With more momentum and 2024 experience, The Team’s network can ensure athletics presence at many more Purple Tour stops.
