Apply for Civic Captain Initiative

The main differences between these programs:

  • The Fellowship is an entire academic year, and the Civic Captain Initiative only goes through the general elections in November.
  • The Fellowship's main element is a year-long civic or voter engagement project of your choosing - you will be responsible for planning and executing this project on your campus with support from The Team staff. The Civic Captain's main goal will be to serve as a campus organizer, working to institutionalize voter engagement into their athletic department and register all student athletes to vote, with support from The Team staff.
  • Fellows receive a $3,000 personal stipend and a $1,000 project stipend. Civic Captains receive a $2,000 personal stipend. Both Fellows and Civic Captain will receive resources, swag, and support from The Team.
  • Fellows will attend cohort-wide zoom calls throughout the semester and an all-expenses-paid year-end trip to DC in June of 2025.
  • Civic Captains will receive trainings on voter registration and engagement to apply towards work on their campus throughout the Fall.
